A photo allegedly featuring Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip5 in the wild has been shared online by Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) via Twitter. It is not known when or where the image was shot, nor how the leakster acquired it.
From the photo, the compact foldable smartphone is shown to be encased in a protective cover that’s likely intended to hide its overall design. Despite this, the device’s key feature – the newer and larger external display – is still very visible, thus confirming prior design leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 provided by tech insiders such as OnLeaks and IceUniverse.

Also seen is its dual external camera setup and flash that’s located below the aforementioned screen, as well as a visible lock button and volume rocker on the right-hand side of the phone. Besides that, displayed on the alleged Galaxy Z Flip5’s external screen is a clock app, which confirms the availability of its Always-On functionality.
Unfortunately, that’s all that we get to see from this recent leak, as this is the only photo that’s provided. While its external design matches the previously leaked renders, the same can’t be said for the device’s interior screen, at least for now.
To quickly recap, past leaks suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ panel for its internal display, while the external one is said to be a 3.4-inch HD AMOLED screen. In terms of size, as depicted through an unofficial comparison photo shared by IceUniverse, it is believed that the phone will be no different from its predecessor.
As for specs, leakster Yogesh Brar shared that Samsung’s next-gen compact foldable will come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, Android 13 via OneUI 5.1, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging. Meanwhile, its imaging system is said to consist of a dual 12MP external cameras, though details of the internal selfie shooter are still not known for now.
The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is expected to make its debut alongside the larger Galaxy Z Fold5 late next month during the brand’s second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. As confirmed by the company itself earlier on, the launch will take place in Seoul, South Korea for the very first time, though the exact dates have yet to be disclosed. According to rumours, the event is expected to be held on either 26 or 27 July 2023.
