Amazfit has officially announced its new Cheetah series that’s specifically aimed at runners. The new fitness-focused smartwatch lineup comes with two models, the base Amazfit Cheetah and the Cheetah Pro.
Cheetah Pro
First up is the Amazfit Cheetah Pro, the top-tier offering with a 1.45-inch AMOLED display with a 1000 nit peak brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, an anti-fingerprint coating, and a titanium alloy bezel. It’s fitted with two physical buttons including a crown and is rated at 5 ATM for water resistance.
For health, it has sensors to track your heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation levels, stress level, sleep, and menstrual cycle. On the fitness side, it has over 150 sports modes to track your activities with built-in dual-band GPS to track your running routes and pacing, as well as more precise navigating in addition to being able to download offline maps.
One big feature of the lineup is that it comes packed with an AI chatbot coach, which will help personalise your workouts based on your performance, condition, and goals. However, a big caveat of this is that it will only be available as a free demo for a short while, before being rolled out as a subscription-based service later on. Additionally, its availability will be limited to select markets.
As for the battery life, it boasts to be able to last 14 days with normal usage without enabling GPS, up to 54 hours with GPS, and up to a whopping 54 days on Clock Mode. Other features include support for Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth calling on the watch itself with its built-in speakers.
Cheetah
On the more affordable side, we have the vanilla Amazfit Cheetah which comes in a Round and Square variant, although only the specs for the former have been announced. It has a slightly smaller 1.39-inch AMOLED display and instead of titanium, the bezel is made of fibre-reinforced polymer.
Notably, it lacks a microphone or speakers, meaning that it’s not able to make phone calls. It also does not support Wi-Fi. Aside from these design and spec differences, everything else about the Amazfit Cheetah Round is identical to the Pro.
The Amazfit Cheetah Round retails for US$230 (~RM1,075) while the Pro carries a higher price tag of US$300 (~RM1,402). It’s unclear yet when exactly the lineup will arrive in Malaysia or what the pricing will be like, but we do know that at least the Cheetah Round will be making its way here soon as it’s already listed on Shopee, with unfortunately no mention of the AI coach.
