Samsung has announced the official rollout of its AI-focused Galaxy Enhance-X photo editing app. It was first introduced last year but was scrapped because of the lack of Android 13 support. However, it was then relaunched as a beta app earlier this year for the Galaxy S23 series.
Now, the photo editor is available on the Galaxy Store for several premium Samsung phones, namely the Galaxy S23 series, S22 series, S21 series, S20 series, Note 20 series, Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Z Fold3, Z Flip3, Z Fold2, Z Flip 5G, and Z Flip LTE. For those using Galaxy A series, Galaxy M series, and Galaxy tablets, the brand says that support for Galaxy Enhance-X will be available at a later date.
The app provides a number of AI tools to customise and enhance your photos. Its Magic feature is probably the easier for anyone to use, requiring a single tap to automatically refine any visual noise, blur, and low details to improve an image’s quality.
There is also the HDR feature to expand a photo’s dynamic range and Upscale, which claims to be able to boost the resolution of images under 1MP by up to four times. One incredibly useful tool would be the Fix Moire feature, capable of removing the lines and wavy patterns that show up when you take pictures of a screen.
If a photo of yours is ruined by unintentional shadows or reflections, the AI in Galaxy Enhance-X can remove those intrusions. Additionally, the app can significantly heighten the clarity of old photos.
