OnePlus is expected to launch the V Fold this summer but ahead of that, leakster OnLeaks has released what he claims to be renders of the foldable phone. As it turns out, we might see a relatively original design from the brand instead of it being a rebrand of one of its sister company’s existing devices.
It was previously rumoured that the V Fold will just be a rebadged OPPO Find N2, meaning it was speculated to carry the exact same compact design as well as specs. But with the new leaks, it seems that the upcoming folding phone will be a taller device that is more similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and vivo X Fold 2.
If the renders are to be believed, the V Fold will feature a huge circular triple-camera bump on the back with a flash curiously placed in the left corner of the phone instead of inside the island. Moreover, it will have the Hasselblad branding seen in previous OnePlus flagships.
Fortunately for the brand’s diehard fans, the foldable might be equipped with the iconic alert slider. It will apparently also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power button instead of having an under-display sensor.
For the inner display, it will house the selfie shooter with a punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner of the left-side display. While none of the specs has been confirmed yet, rumours have suggested that the V Fold will be equipped with a 50MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, a periscope lens, and a 32MP front camera.
Moreover, it is expected to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm, which could make its debut in July, alongside a 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. While it is confirmed that the V Fold will be launching in Q3 2023, no exact date has been revealed, but reports have claimed that it might be unveiled sometime in August.
