iQOO revealed the design of the Neo 7 Pro last week and more recently, the company confirmed a few key specs of the device ahead of its upcoming launch. Positioned as an upper mid-range smartphone, it is rumoured that it will be a rebranding of the China-exclusive Neo 7 Racing.
For starters, the brand revealed that the phone will indeed run on last year’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm. Moreover, it will be paired with an “independent gaming chip” that it claims will deliver better graphics and smoother gameplay.
It will ship with support for 120W fast charging, filling the phone up to 50% in eight minutes. While the charging speed was revealed, the company did not divulge the battery capacity of the Neo 7 Pro. Moreover, the upcoming device will be fitted with the Motion Control feature, which allows users to map actions for gaming by moving the phone such as tilting left or right.
The teaser images confirmed that the Neo 7 Pro does indeed look identical to the Neo 7 Racing, with a big rectangular camera island and a faux leather back. If it is indeed a rebadged Racing, it will sport a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a centred punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper.
Powering it could be a 5,000mAh battery and it will run on Funtouch OS. For the rear camera setup, it will feature a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. Connectivity-wise, it will support 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6.
The Neo 7 Pro will be launched in India on 4 July, where the pricing and configurations will be announced. As of now, the company has yet to reveal if the phone will be coming to the Malaysian market.
