Samsung today has updated its previously announced 2023 TV line-up with two new models for the local market. These include the massive 98-inch QLED 4K Q80C, which is followed by the 77-inch OLED 4K S95C. Both TVs are available for purchase in Malaysia starting today.
The first of which continues Samsung’s legacy of providing one of the largest TV displays in the industry with its impressively large 98-inch screen with slim bezels. As implied by its name, the panel on the Q80C features the brand’s QLED technology, which is powered by the onboard Neural Quantum 4K processor. Its screen is capable of supporting up to 4K resolution with AI upscaling capability, has a refresh rate of 120Hz, and supports HDR10+ and Quantum HDR+. Also built-in are image enhancing features such as Direct Full Array, Real Depth Enhancer and Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ for providing rich and lifelike visuals, while Filmmaker Mode displays movies and shows in the original format intended by their creators.
In terms of audio, featured on the 98-inch QLED 4K Q80C are Dolby Atmos tuned 2.2CH 40W stereo speakers with OTS Lite technology to simulate 3D surround sound. In addition, the TV also comes with Q-Symphony support that allows both its onboard speakers and a connected soundbar to simultaneously produce a more harmonious sound experience.
Of course, the TV has plenty of smart features as well, which is powered by the Tizen operating system. These include the SmartThings built-in hub, voice-based controls, pre-installed streaming services, and much more. Besides that, also onboard are four HDMI ports, two USB-A, an Ethernet LAN port, a digital audio out (optical), as well WiFi5 and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
Next up is the 77-inch OLED 4K S95C TV, which pretty much does most of what the 98-inch QLED Q80C model is capable of, but features a smaller OLED panel instead. Other differences include its onboard system, which consists of multi Dolby Atmos enhanced 4.2.2CH 70W speakers with woofer.
Meanwhile, connectivity on the S95C comprises four HDMI ports, three USB-A, one USB-C for camera only, an Ethernet port, a digital audio out (optical, as well as WiFi5 and Bluetooth 5.2 support. It’s also worth mentioning that the TV features Samsung’s “Infinity One” design, where you can choose keep attach its included One Connect box to the back of the stand for a cleaner and unified look, or keep it separated as a separate unit.
The new 98-inch QLED 4K Q80C and 77-inch OLED 4K S95C TVs are available now and priced at RM 33,999 and RM30,999 respectively. In regards to the former model, let’s just hope that it’s not built to order like its 8K counterpart from 2019, which required up to 8 weeks for assembly and delivery upon confirmation of purchase. Additionally, Samsung notes that those who purchase either TV between 16 to 30 June are also entitled to receive the brand’s self-rotating 43-inch The Sero for free while stocks last.
