[UPDATE: 7:30pm – 16.6.2023]
CelcomDigi has revealed that maintenance for its Digi Fibre service has been completed as of 7:13pm. Below is the telco’s official statement:
“With reference to the earlier update on our Fibre service disruption, we would like to update that the issue has been resolved and services are restored. We thank our customers for their patience and regret the inconvenience caused.”
Users of the service have also confirmed via social media that their connections have been restored.
[ORIGINAL STORY: 4:13pm – 16.6.2023]
CelcomDigi is currently experiencing a nationwide outage for its Digi Fibre service. The telco recently confirmed this through a response to a comment on its Facebook page, adding that a team is actively working to resolve the issue.
Digi Fibre users on Twitter first reported experiencing connectivity problems as early as 2:20pm today. Meanwhile, Downdetector notes that user complaints spiked up at around 1:57pm with 61 reports, and continued to climb even higher between 2pm to 3pm today. However, it would only take an hour after the initial reports until the telco officially confirms the outage through a different social media platform.
“We are sorry to inform that we have an outage on Fibre service nationwide,” CelcomDigi wrote in its reply to one of the comments on Facebook. “Our team is striving to rectify this issue.”
The telco added that the estimated time for resolving the outage will take approximately 4 hours, which suggests that connectivity should be restored at around 7pm later today. While this isn’t the first time for it to experience such issues for its Fibre service, today’s incident is so far one of its longest downtimes yet for the year.

CelcomDigi has yet to release an official statement regarding the outage. On that note, we’ve reached out to the telco for further information and will update accordingly if we receive any new developments.
[Update: 5.20pm – 16.2.2023]
It appears that the outage may take a while longer than expected, at least according to a pop-up notice on Digi’s enquiry page on its official website (thank you @Popcap990 for the tip!). Rather than the 4 hour completion time that was initially promised, the banner states that the issue is expected to be resolved by tomorrow instead. More specifically, at 4pm on 17 June 2023.
Again, CelcomDigi itself has yet to release an statement, so it is uncertain whether the new completion time is official, or just an internal miscommunication on their end. According to several users on social media, the telco is still promising to resolve the issue within the day, which contradicts the enquiry page’s pop-up notice.
Meanwhile, a more recent reply by CelcomDigi on Facebook revealed that the fibre service disruption is caused by “connectivity issues”, but did not clarify further. Additionally, it also noted that it is currently working closely with TM to resolve the matter. The response did not mention of a time extension to the ongoing maintenance.
