Earlier this week, AMD’s Ryzen 7040U Series mobile CPU lineup was announced and in conjunction with it, Razer announced the Blade 14 2023, its 14-inch gaming laptop that is also one of the first to be fitted with a mobile CPU from said lineup.
Specifically, the Blade 14 2023 houses an AMD’s top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 7940HS, an 8-cores, 16-threads CPU with a boost clock of 5.2GHz. Additionally, it also houses a Radeon 780M integrated GPU, which is based on the brand’s own RDNA3 graphics architecture. This processor, by the way, is the model that serves as the foundation to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC that is being used in the ASUS ROG Ally. That same processor, by the way, also feature the chipmaker’s new Ryzen AI, based on its XDNA technology.
Moving on, other internal specifications include up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 discrete graphics with a 140W TGP, up to 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM that can be expanded to 64GB, and a 1TB NVMe Gen4 SSD that can also be upgraded to 4TB. For its output, the Blade 14 2023 boasts a 14-inch panel but unlike its predecessors, it is now a 16:10 display with QHD+ resolution (2560 x 1600). Not only that, but it also comes with an even faster 240Hz refresh rate and 3m GTG response time, as well as AMD FreeSync Premium anti-tearing technology. Oh, and it also has a peak brightness of 500 nits, as well as a 100% DCI-P3 colour accuracy
As with all Razer Blade laptops, the Blade 14 2023 is made out of the same precision-crafted, CNC-cut anodised aluminium body, providing the entire machine with that same sleek, world-class rigidity and durability. Its keyboard has also been tweaked a little, with the keys having been raised and spaced out between each other just a little more than the ones on its predecessors. The trackpad is still the same glass trackpad too, which Razer says will provide the same gliding feeling for our fingers when used.
The Razer Blade 14 2023 is already available globally and retails from US$2,399 (~RM11,116), and comes in both Matte Black and Mercury White. We’re still waiting on Razer to provide local pricing.
