Just earlier this month, realme unveiled the Buds Air 5 Pro alongside the realme 11 smartphone series, updating the Buds Air lineup with new flagship wireless earbuds. Now it seems that the Malaysian market will be receiving the new Pro earphones sometime soon.
No local launch date has been announced yet but the Buds Air 5 Pro have already been listed on the SIRIM database, receiving certification on 9 May with the model number RMA2120. With this listing, it is most likely that the earbuds will be coming here sooner rather than later.
The Buds Air 5 Pro sport 11mm woofers and 6mm planar drivers offer what the brand claims to be twice the frequency response range of the Buds Air 3. Additionally, they support the LDAC codec for high-definition wireless transmission, spatial audio, dual device pairing, and an incredibly low 40ms latency gaming mode through Bluetooth 5.3.
Of course, they also offer active noise cancellation (ANC) that adapts to your surroundings using three microphones on each earbud. The brand claims that they can drown out up to 50dB of noise, which is a slight improvement over the Buds Air 3’s 46dB limit.
As for battery life, the Buds Air 5 Pro promise up to an impressive 11 hours of usage on a single charge and a total battery life of up to 40 hours using the case with ANC turned off, although the website fails to list the expected battery life while using ANC. Protection-wise, the earbuds have a rating of IPX5 for water resistance, but not the case itself.
While the company has not revealed anything regarding the new earbuds, it wouldn’t be surprising if they debut here at the same time as the 11 series. It has been confirmed that the smartphones will be making their way here soon, so stay tuned for an update on the launch date.
