Samsung has finally announced the local arrival of the Galaxy M14 5G, which will debut through Lazada’s Super Brand Day 2023 on 24 May. The entry-level device was unveiled back in January and just last month, it was spotted on the SIRIM database, so its launch here was already expected.
The Galaxy M14 sports a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a tear drop notch, a 2408×1080 resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. It has a a side-mounted fingerprint scanner while on the connectivity side, it offers support for 5G, as well as NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Internally, the phone runs on the company’s in-house Exynos 1330 chipset with a single configuration of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, alongside a microSD card slot for memory expansion. For software, it runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 with Voice Focus, a feature that isolates your voice during phone calls; the brand is promising two generations of OS updates, meaning up to Android 15, and four years of security updates.
The back of the Galaxy M14 features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, the notch houses a 13MP sensor for the selfie shooter.
Powering the budget phone is a massive 6,000mAh battery that claims to be able to last up to 25 hours for video playback and up to 58 hours for talk time. As for charging, it supports 25W wired fast charging with USB-C.
The Galaxy M14 5G will be available on the brand’s Lazada store on 24 May at a retail price of RM1,099, available in blue and dark blue. However, those who purchase the phone at launch can get it at a discounted price of RM849, knocking off a whopping RM250.
