Nothing has posted an official teaser for the much-anticipated Nothing Phone (2), the follow-up to last year’s attention-grabbing Phone (1). The brand showed off a small part of what seems like the phone’s back panel in a video as well as a slightly more revealing image on its event page.
From the teaser, we can see that the Phone (2) will carry on the transparent back design. It seems to have an area with some bumps for texture, a semi-circular area on the side that houses a red LED that could possibly be a recording indicator just like we saw in last year’s model, and what looks to be a physical switch of some kind.
Premium.

While the original Nothing phone was more of a mid-range device, CEO and co-founder Carl Pei revealed earlier this year that its successor will be “more premium“. The company’s first phone ran on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset but a Qualcomm executive accidentally revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will indeed get a massive upgrade with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, last year’s top-tier chipset for Android phones.
While its on-paper specs will unlikely be the most bleeding edge, given that it’s using a last-gen SoC, the upcoming device is still drumming up a lot of buzz due to Nothing’s unique design choices. The brand has yet to announce an exact launch date but teased that it will be coming soon this summer.

When a user asked to specify the summer launch window, Nothing only responded with “we mean Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey”. Some online sleuths claim that the phone could debut on 22 June as that was the date that the song launched, but at this point, this is mere speculation.
If you’re keen to find out about the launch event’s updates as soon as possible, you can head on to the event page and sign up using your email. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what else Nothing will reveal about the Phone (2) before its unveiling.
