It is expected that the vivo sub-brand iQOO will be releasing a new high-end lineup with the upcoming Neo 8 series. Now, the top-tier Neo phone has been spotted with support for an incredibly fast charging speed.
Listed with the model number V2302A, the phone was certified by the CCC and in the listing, it revealed the iQOO Neo 8 Pro is sporting 120W charging, the same as its predecessor. While this is nothing new for the brand, it is a good sign that it is keeping 120W as the standard charging speed for its flagships.
The company has not officially announced anything regarding the lineup yet but there have been several leaks about some of the phones’ specs. For starters, it was reported that there will be two devices in the lineup, with one using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and another being equipped with the upcoming Dimensity 9200 Plus SoC from MediaTek.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the AnTuTu benchmark scores for the iQOO Neo 8 Pro series leaked, revealing that it will indeed be one of the first devices to feature the Dimensity 9200 Plus. Additionally, it was listed with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, although the brand will likely also offer configurations with 8GB and 12GB of RAM as well as 128GB and 256GB of storage.
It was also spotted running Android 13 out of the box, most likely layered with Funtouch OS 13 for the global market. On both AnTuTu and Geekbench 6, the MediaTek chipset is apparently able to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2, Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line offering.
The new SoC will be revealed on 10 May and to no one’s surprise, the iQOO Neo 8 series is also expected to be launched sometime this month. Other specs that have been reported include a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, and a 5,000mAh battery, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to know more.
