Two weeks ago, ASUS took the veil off its latest generation of gaming phones, the ROG Phone 7, as well as its Ultimate variant. We were told at the time that the local launch for the device will fall on 10 May, but as it turns out, there will also be a five-day exhibit for the gaming phone.
The exhibition in question will be happening at the Centre Court of Pavilion Bukit Jalil, with the first day coinciding with the launch of the phone. As it is a five-day showcase, it will be there until 14 May, giving potential customers a chance to try the ASUS ROG Phone 7 out on location. Which is probably the best way to decide if you want the base model, or want to splurge and get the Ultimate model instead.
In case you missed it, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 will only come in two distinct models – the base and Ultimate versions. This is likely a response to the four distinct variants that the previous generation had, two of which even had a different chipset. This time, it looks less likely that the company will announce two other variants alter in the year, although we can’t discount it completely.
As for the phones themselves, we’re looking at very incremental upgrades over the last generation. More notable than the rest though are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, as well as the improved cooling system. As mentioned previously, the Ultimate model has an additional vent for even better cooling when the AeroActive Cooler is attached.
Despite the announcement of the launch event exhibition, ASUS Malaysia is naturally still keeping the RAM and storage configurations of the ROG Phone 7, as well as its price, a secret for now. Those will still have to wait until the launch is underway two weeks from now.
