Huawei has officially revealed a local launch date for one of its latest flagship devices, the P60 Pro. The P60 lineup was unveiled last month along with its new foldable smartphone, the Mate X3, and for now, the brand seems to have only confirmed the local release of the Pro.
When the devices were unveiled, Huawei’s Malaysian website had a page where users could sign up to get a hands-on experience with the P60 Pro and Mate X3, but no launch date was given at the time. Now, that same page has been updated, detailing that the phone will be making its Malaysian debut on 11 May at 2.30 PM at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
The page also prompts users to subscribe as a Huawei Fan for a chance to attend the event in person, with plans for 10 fans to be selected. Moreover, customers can already make a RM1 deposit to pre-order the Huawei P60 Pro.
Those who have paid the deposit also stand a chance to win the flagship as well as 16 other consolation prizes. This campaign is running from 22 April until 11 May.
The Huawei P60 Pro sports a 6.67-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
For its camera module, it features 48MP primary and telephoto lenses with OIS along with a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The device is powered by a 4815mAh battery that supports 88W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, although the wireless charger is sold separately.
Huawei Malaysia has vaguely hinted to us before that both the P60 and P60 Pro “may” be coming here soon, but it has not confirmed whether the upcoming launch will also see the debut of the base model and the Mate X3. Both the P60 Pro and Mate X3 have received SIRIM certification, but we could not find the P60 in the database.
