Xiaomi announced its previous tablets, the Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro, back in August of 2021, as well as a stretched out version of the latter last year. Now, the company has the tablets’ proper successors, in the form of the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro.
With this generation of tablets, the company is doing the same thing as it did the last one, which letting both keep similar screens. This means that both the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro share an 11-inch 1800 x 2880 16:10 IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Incidentally, both also appear to share a stereo quad-speaker setup.
On the inside, the Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and a 8840mAh battery which supports 33W charging. The Pro model, on the other hand, has a beefier Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, with a faster charging battery at 67W. That being said, the battery itself is ever-so-slightly smaller, being rated at 8600mAh.
Their cameras is where the divide between the base and Pro models really show. For the Xiaomi Pad 6, it has a 13MP main camera with an 8MP secondary shooter. As for the Pro model, this comes with a 50MP camera at the back, and a 20MP camera in front.
The base model Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with three RAM and storage configurations. These are 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB, which are priced at RMB1899 (~RM1223), RMB1999 (~RM1288) and RMB2299 (~RM1481), respectively.
As for the Pro model this comes with four configurations, which are 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. These are priced at RM2399 (~RM1546), RMB2699 (~RM1739), RMB2999 (~RM1932) and RMB3299 (~RM2125), respectively.
For now, there’s no word on when or if any of these will be made available on our shores, or what their local priced will be should that happen. Though judging from the previous release, we may find out within the next month.
