Tecno has announced that its latest Spark 10 smartphone series will be coming to Malaysia soon, though no date has been provided for now. The line-up was initially introduced in India earlier this month, with the Pro variant just officially launched for the market yesterday on 23 March 2023. According to GizmoChina, the remaining models consist of standard and 5G models as well as an entry-level Spark 10 C variant, though their specifications and designs have yet to be revealed.
The Spark 10 Pro is marketed by Tecno as the series’ top-end offering, featuring a 4G-enabled MediaTek Helio G88 octa-core chipset with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. Additionally, the phone has a 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W charging via USB-C, a dedicated microSD card slot that supports memory expansion of up to 1 TB, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC wireless connectivity.
Its display is a large 6.8-inch IPS LCD flat display with a top-centred camera cutout, 1080 x 2460 pixel resolution, and 90 Hz refresh rate. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a FM radio function, and Android 13 via Tecno’s HIOS 12.6 platform. The Tecno Spark 10 Pro also sports a plastic flat frame, a glass covered rear panel that’s offered in either Pearl White, Starry Black or Pearl White, and weighs in at 208 g. Unfortunately, it does not have any water or dust resistance certifications.
For imaging, situated on the back of the smartphone is a triple camera setup housed in an arrangement that’s reminiscent of recent iPhone models. The system is championed by a 50 MP primary, which is accompanied by two other unspecified sensors. Housed within the third largest circle in the setup is an LED light that offers three levels of brightness via the onboard camera app. Meanwhile, situated within the cutout on the handset’s display is a 32 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
In India, the new Tecno Spark 10 Pro is only offered in a single memory configuration for now, retailing at INR 12,499 (~RM 672). The company did not say when the other phones from the Spark 10 series will be released, or which particular model(s) is expected to launch in Malaysia first.
On a related note, Tecno Malaysia previously teased that its first ever foldable smartphone, the Phantom V Fold, will eventually see a local launch in the near future as well. Much like the Spark 10 series, the company did not provide a date for the device’s upcoming arrival.
