Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced additional trains for the Hari Raya holiday celebration as well as the Labour Day public holiday. So those who might have missed out on the previous round of tickets for the two occasions now have a chance of grabbing them for the holiday season.
The railway operator stated that its additional train services involve two routes for KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral as well as two more for KL Sentral-Butterworth-KL Sentral. As for when the tickets for these extra routes go on sale, they were made available starting today at 10 AM.
According to KTMB, the additional services for Hari Raya offer 1,260 tickets per day for the previously sold-out routes, adding up to a total of 13,860 tickets for the entire period, including business class coaches. The routes will run from 19 to 25 April, involving a total of 14 services with each offering 4,410 tickets.
As for the extra Labour Day trains, they will involve a total of 16 services that will operate from 28 April until 1 May. These trains will offer a total of 5,040 additional tickets for travellers during the public holiday.
The departure times for the additional ETS trains running during this period for the KL Sentral to Padang Besar route are 11 AM (Padang Besar-KL Sentral) and 5.05 PM (KL Sentral-Padang Besar). Meanwhile, the extra trains for the KL Sentral to Butterworth route will depart at 11.40 AM (Butterworth-KL Sentral) and 4.40 PM (Butterworth-KL Sentral).
As previously mentioned, the tickets are available starting today and they can be purchased through KTMB’s website, mobile app, or its kiosks and counters. For those purchasing tickets online for at least four people, you can get a 25% discount [PDF] with the code “TRAVEL2SAMASAMA”.
In related news, KTMB recently launched the MyRailLife pass for primary and secondary school students as well as OKU. The pass offers free rides to its holders for the Klang Valley KTM Komuter, KTM Komuter Utara, and Shuttle Timuran until 14 February 2024.
