ORIGINAL STORY (10:42 PM):
CIMB Bank revealed that a number of its services are currently experiencing downtime. Among them include both of its consumer-level online banking apps, the CIMB Clicks and CIMB OCTO.
According to the post that was published on the bank’s Facebook and Twitter accounts simultaneously at 10:15 PM, CIMB’s self-service terminals are also down at the moment. Not only that, customers are also not able to perform debit card transactions as well.
In the post, CIMB said that a “connectivity issue” has affected these services although it didn’t provide any in-depth details regarding the downtime. Furthermore, the bank also has yet to provide any estimated time of recovery although it is already working to put these services back into operation.
We are facing a connectivity issue that is impacting the availability of CIMB Clicks / CIMB OCTO, Self-Service Terminals and Debit Card transactions.

Kami ingin memaklumkan bahawa perkhidmatan kami telah dipulihkan. Terima kasih atas kesabaran anda.— CIMBMalaysia (@CIMBMalaysia) March 20, 2023
As you can tell from the brief post on the bank’s official social media pages, there was no explanation about the exact nature of the “connectivity issue” that CIMB experienced tonight. While tonight’s downtime seemed to be relatively short-lived and was not as bad as some of the bank’s previous incidents, plenty of customers were not happy about it, based on the comments that were left on the bank’s Facebook page as well as Twitter.
