vivo today has officially announced that the standard variant of its new V27 series will be launching in Malaysia soon. As you may recall, the brand debuted the line-up first with the entry-level V27e model earlier this month, which pretty much shares the same design language and rear Aura Light Portrait system as the rest of its siblings.
Of course, the hardware specifications of the vanilla vivo V27 are notches higher than the inaugural model that was recently locally introduced. For starters, the phone’s display is not only larger, but also features curved edges. It measures in at 6.78-inches, and features an AMOLED panel, 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as HDR10+ support. Additionally, this variant also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, Android 13 via vivo’s Funtouch 13 interface, a loudspeaker, a USB-C port, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC wireless connectivity.
As for its internals, equipped on the V27 is a 5G-enabled Mediatek Dimensity 7200 mid-range chipset, along with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. Keep in mind that the memory configuration mentioned is based on the phone’s launch for the global market, and may differ from the upcoming Malaysian release. Meanwhile, powering the device is the same 4,600 mAh battery as the V27e, which also comes with 66 W fast charging via USB-C.
In terms of imaging, housed within the triple camera setup on its back is a 50 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 2 MP macro. Like its siblings, it also features the series’ signature Aura Light Portrait lighting system that aids in making night and portrait shots look brighter and more natural. In front, housed within the display’s punch-hole cutout is a 50 MP selfie camera, which is a big leap when compared to the 32 MP on the V27e.
While its arrival is imminent, vivo has yet to share with us the local launch date for the V27. That being said, pricing for the device and its potential configurations will only be made known by then. For your reference, the phone is offered globally at US$ 399 for the 8 GB + 256 GB configuration.
It’s also worth mentioning that a Pro variant of the vivo V27 series has also been introduced globally alongside the vanilla model. However, it’s still not known whether the top-end sibling will launch in Malaysia at this time.
