Just a week after launching its new Magic5 series, HONOR has added another device to its slate with the Magic5 Ultimate. The phone is marketed to be the highest-tier offering in the lineup, bound in vegan leather and an included premium Montblanc Bespoke leather case, along with a pair of USB-C headphones.
Despite its “Ultimate” moniker, the phone seems to be rocking the exact same specs as the Pro variant, but with a more premium look and a single configuration. This is different from last year’s series, where the Ultimate edition got a significant camera upgrade over the Pro with a bigger sensor and an additional lens.
Just like its Pro counterpart, the Magic5 Ultimate sports a 6.81-inch 2848×1312 LTPO OLED display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It runs on the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The flagship phone’s rear is equipped with three 50MP cameras: a primary lens, an ultra-wide, and a periscope telephoto along with dTOF, flicker, and colour temperature sensors. Up front, there is a dual setup made up of a 12MP selfie shooter and a 3D depth sensor.
Powering the HONOR Magic5 Ultimate is a 5,450mAh battery, which is the same size as the one in the China version of the Pro, and is compatible with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. For connectivity, it is equipped with support for Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and even an infrared blaster, although it lacks the eSIM support that we’ve seen in the Pro.
The HONOR Magic5 Ultimate is available in black and orange colour options and is expected to ship in China starting on 20 March. It’s being sold for CNY6,699 (~RM4,330), which is just a bit higher than the price of the Pro with the same configuration. As of now, the company has not announced if the phone will make its way to the international market.
