realme announced the latest entry to its flagship smartphone line-up last night during MWC 2023 in Barcelona with the all-new realme GT3. Currently available only in a standard variant, the new model is packed with a large display, a high-end Snapdragon chipset and a 50 MP primary camera, among other things. But most excitingly, it’s so far the only handset to feature the world’s fastest charging support ever.
The new realme GT3 sports a 6.74-inch flat AMOLED panel with a top-centred cutout for its selfie camera. The display supports a resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels, a fast refresh rate of 144 Hz, 1 billion colour output, 1400 nits peak brightness, and supports HDR10+. It also features an under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and an RGB lighting system on its back. The latter of which is dubbed as the “Pulse Interface System”, which is used to indicate charging status and notifications, and is also fully customisable with 25 colours, two rhythm styles and five light speed modes.
Under the hood, the new realme handset is equipped not with Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, but rather the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 – a generation behind, but still a high-end piece of hardware nonetheless. This is paired together with several memory configurations consisting of up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to a whopping 1 TB of internal storage. If these don’t impress you much, then perhaps one of its other major selling points might pique your interest instead: its 240 W fast charging support.
As pointed out earlier, the realme GT3 is the first smartphone in the world to feature a charging speed of this calibre. This is achieved by using three 100 W charging chips together, which has been optimised to achieve 98.5% transfer efficiency. Additionally, included is an intelligent system that can switch between several modes and select the appropriate charging speed in order to retain its battery’s life cycle. And in case you’re wondering, it is also certified by TUV Rheinland to be safe for use.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the system is a 4,600 mAh battery that’s sufficient to provide an all-day’s worth of usage. When used together with the impressive 240 W fast charging, a full top-up is claimed to take only nine minutes via USB-C.
Next up is the imaging setup on the realme GT3, which comprises a triple camera setup on its back. Leading the charge is a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 2 MP microscope. Housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display, on the other hand, is a 16 MP front-facing camera.
Besides that, the phone features a massive 6,580mm² vapour chamber as part of its cooling system, dual-side NFC support, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. On the software side of things, onboard is the brand’s realme UI 4.0 platform that’s based on Android 13.
Realme has yet to confirm the availability of the realme GT3 for the global market. Regardless, it promised that prices of its upcoming flagship will start from US$ 649 (~RM 2,911), likely referring to the 8 GB + 128 GB configuration. For colour selection, the phone will be offered in either Booster Black or Pulse White.
