During CES 2023 back in January, MSI showcased a couple of laptops that will be hitting the market. Among them were the Stealth series laptops, which a representative has said is a rebranding of the old GS line. That, and the newcomer Cyborg series, which was described as the affordable gaming lineup. Now, the company has confirmed that these will be coming to Malaysia.
In our previous coverage of the MSI Stealth 14 Studio, we mentioned that it would be packing a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H CPU. And that is still accurate to the models coming in to the local market. That being said, it looks like where the GPU is concerned, the company is only bringing in models packing up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. Display options also seem to be locked to a 14-inch QHD 16:10 display with 240Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. As an aside, the battery is rated at 72Wh.
It’s mostly the same story with the MSI Stealth 16 Studio, except the screen size which is obviously pushed up to 16 inches. Being a larger model, it also packs a slightly larger battery, rated at 99.9Wh. Incidentally, the company points out that batteries rated at 100Wh are the largest batteries allowed on flights.
Going to the MSI Cyborg 15 while it is indeed meant to be an affordable model, it is fitted with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H. As with the CPU, the other items on the spec sheet are not exactly a surprise. We see the same 15.6-inch 144Hz Full HD display from earlier, as well as GPU options going up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.
For the prices of these laptops, we’ll start with the MSI Cyborg 15 with its single configuration. This laptop is already available with a price of RM5999. As you’d expect, it’s also by far the most affordable model of the lot.
Moving on to the MSI Stealth series, we start with the 14-inch model, which is priced at RM9999. As for the larger Stealth 16 Studio, this comes in two distinct configurations. One has 16GB of DDR5 RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, and this one comes with a price of RM1099. The other is bette equipped, coming with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, and a price of RM13999. MSI Malaysia says that these are all already available for purchase.
