Alongside this year’s TUF Gaming laptops, ASUS has also announced that its latest ROG Flow devices will also be making their way to Malaysia soon. First in line being the 2023 ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet, which now features an all-new 13-inch Nebula Display, as well as numerous upgrades for its internal hardware.
This year’s ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is touted to be as thin and light as its predecessor, measuring at just 12 mm thick and 1.1 kg in weight. Featured on the gaming tablet is the aforementioned Nebula Display, which is essentially a 13.4-inch IPS panel with QHD+ (2560 x 1600 pixel) resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 165 Hz refresh rate, and comes with Gorilla Glass DXC protection. Its rear panel is pretty much identical to last year’s model; complete with a 170° kickstand, an Aura Sync light bar, and 13 MP rear camera.
The gaming tablet also features a built-in 3DNR 5 MP webcam in front, 3-microphone array, and a 2-speaker system with Smart Amp Technology. For I/O, onboard are USB-A 3.2 and USB-C 3.2 ports, a single Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort and power delivery support, an ROG XG mobile interface, 3.5 mm combo audio jack, and a microSD/UHS-II card reader. Additionally, supported wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
Internally, the ROG Flow Z13 is equipped with up to an Intel Core i9-13900H processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, 16 GB LPDDR5, and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. Also onboard is a custom vapour chamber, while both its CPU and GPU come with Thermal Grizzly liquid metal thermal compound in order to keep both components’ temperatures in check. Further, the gaming tablet features a 56 WHrs battery, along with a 130 W Type-C AC Adapter that’s claimed to top-up up to 50% of juice in only 30 minutes.
Features-wise, there’s Windows 11 Home pre-installed, which is bundled together with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Included in the package is a keyboard attachment that doubles as a screen cover, an ROG Flow Sleeve, and an ASUS Stylus.
The 2023 ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is set to arrive for the local market by mid March for RM 8,999, which is slightly pricier than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the company revealed that this year’s ROG Flow X13 and Flow X16 convertible gaming laptops will be coming to Malaysia as well sometime in June, though pricing for either of these products have yet to be confirmed.
