Blizzard Entertainment previously announced that Diablo IV will be released on 6 June. But if you want to experience a bit of the game before that, or if you need an early taste to decide if you will be buying the game, then here’s some news for you. The publisher has announced that there will be an open beta for the game near the end of next month.
More specifically, the dates for the Diablo IV open beta are between 24 and 26 March. This will be available to all platforms that are getting the game, which means PC and both generations of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. That being said, getting access is not as simple as simply downloading a beta client.
In order to do that, you will have to first head to the dedicated beta page on the official Diablo website. From here, you’ll have log into your Battle.net account and redeem your access to the Diablo IV open beta. On PC, this doing this will immediately grant you access to said open beta. But for consoles, you’ll have to wait for a platform-specific code to be sent to the email tied to your Battle.net account. This email will also only be sent to you closer to the start of the beta.
On the other hand, those who pre-ordered the game will be able to get earlier access to the beta without having to do anything. In addition to the fuss-free process, pre-orders also gets you access to an early access beta that will be open a week earlier, between 17 and 19 March.
Either way, both beta windows will give players access to the prologue and first act of Diablo IV, with a level cap of 25. Blizzard also says that there will be another livestream on 1 March, but 3AM local time, when the publisher will share more details for the open beta.
