The Xiaomi Civi 2 launched last October in China but at the time, the company made no mention of if or when it might be available in other markets. However, a new leaked hands-on video claims that the device will indeed be coming to the global stage, and will be rebranded as the Xiaomi 13 Lite, which supports the phone’s appearance in the Google Play Console database last month.
The Chinese brand is planning to debut its upcoming Xiaomi 13 lineup at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) on 26 February 2023. We’re expecting to see the vanilla 13 as well as the 13 Pro, but if the leak is to be believed, the company could also unveil the 13 Lite during the event.

Leakster Sudhanshu Ambhore posted a video of what is purportedly the Xiaomi 13 Lite in all its glory, alleging that it is purely a rebadged Civi 2. He adds that the phone has the same specs as the previously released device, including a 6.55-inch FHD+ 10-bit AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for Dolby Vision.
Just like the Civi 2, the 13 Lite apparently also runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, though its RAM and storage configurations are still not known at this time. Meanwhile, powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging but no wireless charging compatibility.
As for photography, the device features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. Up front, the phone houses a unique pill-shaped centre cutout with two 32MP selfie shooters — a regular sensor and one ultra-wide. It is speculated that this might have some sort of Dynamic Island-like implementation, but Xiaomi has not released any official software for that kind of function yet.
While Xiaomi has not confirmed the existence of the 13 Lite, recently leaked renders from leaker SnoopyTech puts the lower-end device in the 13 series that is soon to make its global launch. For reference, the Civi 2 starts from CNY 2,399 (~RM1,530) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
