Alongside its new midrange Reno8 T series, OPPO has also launched a new pair of wireless earbuds called the Enco Air3 in Malaysia. Debuting with the same price tag as the Enco Air2, the new buds come with a brand-new design as well as improved specs and battery life.
First, let’s talk about the design that OPPO chose for the case. It uses a big wide lid that opens up 110 degrees, making it easier to take the buds out and put them back in. There’s also the theme of translucence with the case which is mirrored by the semi-transparent bottom tip of the earbud stems.
The Enco Air3 earbuds sport the same-sized 13.4mm drivers as their predecessor, but they are fitted with a new digital signal processor (DSP) that uses Tensilica Cadence HiFi architecture, promising 25 times more processing power and 50% improved battery life. They are also equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 with the ability to connect to two devices at once and a 47ms ultra-low latency mode for gaming.
Together with the support for Google Fast Pair, the earbuds themselves are rated for IP54 dust and water resistance while they also offer touch controls for media playback that can even be used to adjust the volume. While the Enco Air3 don’t have active noise cancellation, they do feature noise cancellation for calls so that your voice sounds clearer on the other side.
With OPPO’s claim of better battery efficiency, it does promise a battery life of six hours on a single charge despite the battery capacity of the buds being the same as the previous model, which can last only for four hours. With the charging case, the Enco Air3 can last a total of 25 hours although that is only one hour more than its predecessor, mainly due to the smaller battery that was equipped into the case.
Come with a price tag of RM249, the earbuds are only available in white. The OPPO Enco Air3 will be available for purchase on the company’s website from 11 February onwards.
