After much teasing, OPPO has finally introduced its latest mid-ranger smartphone lineup into the Malaysian market: the Reno8 T 5G and 4G. The new devices offer quite a few premium features within mid-range pricing including a respectable screen and some interesting photography features.
First up, the Reno8 T 5G sports a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, curved edges, a peak brightness of 950 nits, and protected by AGC Dragontrail Glass. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset along with a single configuration that offers 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage and an SD card slot for storage expansion.
For photography, the phone has a triple-camera setup on the back with a 108MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP microlens with an astonishing 40x magnification, while the front camera features a 32MP selfie shooter. It is powered by a 4,800mAh battery with support for 67W charging, which claims to charge the phone from empty to 100% in 44 minutes.
On the other hand, the 4G variant of the series features a slightly smaller 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a lower 90Hz refresh rate and comes with a flat screen instead of a curved one. The lower price tag also resulted in a less powerful SoC as the Reno8 T 4G runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with no memory expansion slot, unlike its higher-end counterpart.
Camera-wise, the 4G model sports a slightly downgraded 100MP main rear sensor as well as the same 40x zoom microlens and 32MP selfie camera. The phone also supports slower 33W charging but makes up for it with a bigger 5,000mAh battery.
The OPPO Reno8T 5G is priced at RM1,799 and is available for pre-order on the brand’s website starting today, which comes with a free Enco Buds2 worth RM129. Meanwhile, the Reno8 T 4G will be available on 11 February with a price tag of RM1,399.
