Following the brand’s confirmation at the end of last month, vivo today officially launched its latest flagship device in Malaysia, the vivo X90 Series. The new X Series release was once again co-developed by ZEISS and was originally launched in China last November although only two out of the three variants are being made available in our market for the time being.
Regardless of the X90 Pro or the standard X90, both devices are powered by the 4nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 9200 processor alongside 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS4.0-based storage, and a custom-made ISP & AI accelerator chip called V2. They have also been equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that has a native resolution of 1260 x 2800, 120Hz refresh rate and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
vivo has been pivoting the X Series towards photography for the longest time and things are no different for the X90 Series. Naturally, the highlight would be the main camera on the X90 Pro which has been equipped with a 50.3MP Sony IMX 989 1-inch sensor that has been paired with an f/1.8 lens alongside laser autofocus and PDAF capabilities as well as optical image stabilization (OIS).
As if that is not enough, X90 Pro’s rear camera also featured another 50MP sensor within its telephoto camera which has been equipped with an f/1.6 lens, OIS, and 2x optical zoom. Completing the rear camera set-up is a 12MP f/2.0 ultrawide autofocus camera.
On the standard X90, the rear camera module provides a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, 12MP f/2.0 ultrawide camera, and 12MP f/2.0 telephoto camera also with 2x optical zoom capability. The rear cameras on both the standard and Pro models have been covered with ZEISS T* coating.
When it comes to the selfie camera, both models were fitted with the same 32MP f/2.5 camera that was positioned on the top centre part of their screen. Completing their basic hardware specifications is a 4870mAh battery for the X90 Pro while the standard model has a 4810mAh battery.
Both variants are able to support wired fast charging with a power rating of up to 120W which allows them to achieve 50% battery capacity with just a charging time of between 8 to 10 minutes. The Pro model also comes the support for 50W wireless charging.
The new vivo X90 Series will be officially released in Malaysia tomorrow with the X90 Pro being priced at RM4,999. As for the standard X90, it can be obtained for RM3,699.
Early adopters of the Pro model will be provided with a Joyoung Electric Baking Pan while the freebies for the standard variant come in the form of vivo Air true wireless earbuds. Customers of both models will also receive a Protection Plus package that includes Extended Warranty, dedicated Battery Warranty, and Screen Crack Protection for one year.
