One of Malaysia’s biggest online marketplace, Mudah has launched a new service that lets you sell your car more easily. With the new “Sell To Mudah” option, you can sell your car directly to the company’s auto hubs, skipping the hassle of listing your vehicle on the secondhand market and trying to find a buyer.
According to the company who merged with Carousell back in 2019, the aim of the new service is to provide an option to car owners who want the best price, receive immediate payment, and hassle-free transactions. Via Sell To Mudah, customers now have the option to make an appointment through Mudah’s portal, drive up to one of Mudah Auto’s hubs, and get a guaranteed on-the-spot payment for their vehicle with the company taking care of all the necessary paperwork.
At the inspection hub, your car’s condition will be professionally assessed through the company’s 180-point mVIP inspection report, which includes a test drive and readings from electronic components and sensors. The mVIP inspection is free for sellers but for prospective buyers who wish to have the inspection done, it costs RM50 and the inspection process is estimated to take around 30 minutes.
Of course, the offer that you will get from Mudah Auto will depend on the make and condition of your car, but naturally, the company promises a competitive price. Currently, the company has established several Mudah Auto inspection hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, and Penang.
Despite the launch of the new service, the platform’s open marketplace that lets anyone list a car for sale will continue to exist. Hence, whether you want to sell directly to Mudah or wish to list and negotiate a price with potential buyers yourself, will be solely up to you.
Citing a report published by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), the company said that the local automotive industry is experiencing a resurgence following the country’s transition to an endemic phase of COVID-19. There were reportedly over 720,000 cars sold in 2022, a 41.6% increase from the previous year.
