We’re in the month of February, and PlayStation Asia has announced the free games that PS Plus subscribers will be getting in a few days. This is also a month with a lot of games to be claimed, and we have quite a headliner title.
Arguably the most notable game to be a part of the PS Plus Essential lineup of free games this month is Mafia: Definitive Edition. A remake of the original, this entry has an extended story while keeping most of the story beats of the first. The game is also slightly easier than before, with a Classic Difficulty option which changes mechanics like ammo and police response time to match the original. One last minute but much appreciated tradition is the addition of bikes.
If that’s not quite up your alley, then Destiny 2: Beyond Light might be something for you instead in this month’s PS Plus lineup. The fifth expansion to the MMO shooter, this introduces, and gives to players, powers of darkness, in a series that’s predominantly revolving around light. Beyond that, it’s pretty much the same old looter shooter formula. But it’s worth noting that Beyond Light is two expansions behind by now, with The Witch Queen and Lightfall having been released since.
Beyond that, there’s Evil Dead: The Game on the PS Plus lineup as well. An asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror title reminiscent of Dead by Daylight. Also included is OlliOlli World, a 2D skateboarding platformer, which is a very interesting combination, if nothing else. And rounding things up for this month is SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris, which is probably something for those who follow the anime series.
