The Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) has announced a new telco plan called Pakej Perpaduan, an update to last year’s Keluarga Malaysia packages. This time around, the package is casting a wider net to include even more needy groups and it provides even more value for users.
The Remaja package under the previous Keluarga Malaysia plans provided teens and university students with 20GB of data for three months at a price of RM30. With Pakej Perpaduan, the plan upgrades the data speed from 1Mbps to 3Mbps with a bigger data cap of 30GB that is valid for up to six months.

Those who are eligible to purchase the package are youths under the age of 30, those in the B40 category, the disabled (OKU), senior citizens, and army and police veterans. As for the service providers, five of the country’s major telcos are involved with the government’s initiative, namely CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Telekom Malaysia (TM), and YTL Communications.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that the services offered by Pakej Perpaduan will cut users’ communication costs by half from RM10 per month to just RM5. The announcement comes just a week after the minister promised to reduce the price of telco plansΒ for the benefit of both the B40 and M40 income groups.
Of course, the package announced by the ministry is only the baseline, with KKD saying that it is up to the carriers to add on any more value. The Pakej Perpaduan prepaid plans are set to hit the market in February 2023. As of writing, none of the telcos involved has posted anything regarding their respective Pakej Perpaduan offers yet.
