OPPO has yet to divulge any information regarding its next flagship smartphone, which is tentatively known as the FInd X6. Chances are, we’ll only find out within the first quarter of the new year, given the fact that its predecessors only launched around February and March. However, we might not have to wait until then to see what the phone looks like, thanks to a very recent leak.
Provided by reliable tech insider Evan Blass (also known as evleaks) is a single image showcasing the rear panel of the alleged OPPO FInd X6, or rather a 3D render of it. Unfortunately, the leakster did not provide any further details regarding the phone, so information such as its specifications, launch date, and pricing are still a mystery for now. Thankfully, not all is for naught as this lone image gives us enough things to speculate about.
For starters, the most obvious standout is the humongous camera island located on the device’s back, suggesting that OPPO may have a change in direction for the series’ design language. Which is a shame, as both the Find X3 and Find X5 offered a very sleek and unique look that its competitors have yet to replicate.
This new design approach – provided that the leak is accurate – amusingly harkens back to phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which also favoured oversized camera islands. On that note, Blass claimed through a follow-up tweet that the alleged Find X6 featured in the image he provided is not a variant of sorts, but the actual device itself. Whether or not OPPO is actually releasing only a single version of its next generation flagship is still anyone’s guess at this time.
Moving on. The large array is shown to house three cameras that are most likely the primary and ultra-wide sensors on the upper row, whereas situated below them is a periscope module. Found beside the latter is OPPO’s Marisilicon branding, while hogging the bottom of the island is a white space that highlights the company’s collaboration with cameramaker Hasselblad.
The highest version of OPPO Find X6 uses 1" Sony IMX989. With its extremely high quality, it smashes all ISOCELL sensors. Only Samsung is playing the 200MP ultra-high pixel solution. High-end CIS is still the world of Sony.

In a separate rumour, leaksters Digital Chat Station and Ice Universe claim that the camera setup on the Find X6 will feature Sony’s IMX 989 1-inch 50 MP sensor for the primary, a regular 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 32 MP sensor for the periscope. Seeing that other flagship-tier smartphones are packing the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, it wouldn’t be surprising if OPPO’s own would feature it as well.
Of course, it’s still uncertain whether the leaksters’ claims are accurate, regardless of their respective track records. For now, our best bet is wait for an official announcement from OPPO once they’re ready to unveil their next generation flagship smartphone, though that might actually take some time.
