It’s about that time of the year, when all major PC brands such as HP, begin prepping their next generation of products, fitted with the latest CPUs and GPUs. Case in point, a new leak suggests that an HP Omen 17 will be sporting an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mobile GPU and Intel 13th Gen HX-Series mobile CPU.
Details of the 13th Gen Intel and RTX 4090-powered Omen 17 were first spotted by popular leakster 188号 (@momomo_us), who discovered the laptop being listed in six different configurations. What is more interesting, though, is that the same listing also outright lists an RTX 4060, 4070, and 4080 as options.

Interestingly, both the RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 models on the list share the same 8GB of graphics memory, although it is not clear if they are using the GDDR6 or GDDR6X standard. However, considering that these are laptop GPUs, NVIDIA could opt for the former.
Moving on, the Omen 17 configuration with the RTX 4080 is listed as having 12GB of graphics memory, while the RTX 4090 has 16GB. Regardless of GPU, all configurations of the laptop are shown to be fitted with a Core i7-13700HX. Further, the display size is set at 17.3-inches but varies between Full HD and QHD (2560 x 1440) resolutions. On that note, the Romanian listing doesn’t actually say what sort of refresh rate the laptop displays will have, but if we were to follow the trend, it could 120Hz at the bare minimum and as high as 240Hz for the higher-end SKU.
Rumours about NVIDIA announcing a new lineup of GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs for laptops aren’t groundbreaking news and with CES 2023, you can expect the frequency of rumours and leaks regarding it to increase. This news on the Omen 17 being one of them. On that note, if all goes according to plan and given some of the information that we’re already privy to from other sources, both NVIDIA and Intel will certainly be making their announcement for said products early next month.
