Leakster Ice Universe is suggesting that the second generation OPPO foldable smartphone, the Find N2, would not not see a release outside of China after its upcoming debut later this month. However, the tech insider is claiming that the global market will instead receive the more compact Find N2 Flip variant in 2023.
To recap our previous report, a leak on Weibo has revealed an alleged prototype of the latter model, revealing a smaller foldable smartphone with a clamshell form factor akin to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series. Just recently, OPPO released a teaser video featuring both the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip on the Chinese social media platform, confirming prior rumours and leaks. The company notes that the upcoming foldables will be fully unveiled during the 2022 Inno Day event, which is scheduled take place on 15 December this year.

In the same Twitter thread, Ice Universe adds that the Find N2 Flip will come with a larger battery capacity than its Samsung rival, and would also feature a durable build. Additionally, the leakster is claiming that OPPO’s own compact foldable will be more affordable than the Galaxy Z Flip 4, though no specific figures were given.
In terms of specifications, leakster Yogesh Brar revealed through a separate posting on Twitter that the upcoming OPPO Find N2 Flip would feature a 6.8-inch OLED interior foldable display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, while its exterior screen measures at 3.2-inches and is also equipped with an OLED panel, but a lower refresh rate of 60 Hz. It is also said to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, as well as Android 13 via the brand’s ColorOS 13 platform.

Meanwhile, housed within the cutout on the smartphone’s interior foldable display to be a 32 MP selfie camera, whereas the dual-camera setup on its exterior is believed to consist of a 50 MP primary and an 8 MP ultra-wide. Lastly, Brar claims that the Find N2 Flip would feature a 4,300 mAh battery with 44 W fast charging, which corroborates Ice Universe’s earlier claim. For your reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with a 3,700 mAh battery.
Both tech insiders are suggesting that OPPO will globally launch the Find N2 Flip model sometime within the first quarter of 2023. It is unclear why the brand would withhold the regular Find N2 model from being released outside of China, much like its predecessor which launched exclusively for the country last year.
