HONOR today has announced that its latest smartphone, the HONOR X9a 5G, will soon arrive for the Malaysian market. It is described by the company as a new generation of its X-series handsets, and a direct successor to the HONOR X9 5G that was released locally earlier this year.
Unfortunately, little is known regarding the specifications of the upcoming device, with the exception of its display. But rather than detailing the resolution, refresh rate or colour output, HONOR instead is placing a lot of emphasis on the durability of the X9a 5G’s screen. According to the company, the phone’s “ultra-tough” curved display adopts a 0.65 mm Super Reinforced glass, which is claimed to be able to withstand fall impact.
Besides that, it is also confirmed that the display on the HONOR X9a 5G uses an AMOLED panel and features an AI-powered “anti-mistouch” algorithm that reduces instances of oversensitivity during interactions. The phone’s size is still unknown, but using its predecessor as reference, there is a chance that it could come with a screen that measures around 6.8-inches.
As for its design, an official teaser from HONOR reveals that the upcoming handset will sport a curved rear panel with a matte finish. Along with it is a familiar ring-like island, which is shown to house three cameras. Much like the X9 5G, this model’s imaging setup too is powered by the brand’s AI Vision Camera system. However, like most of its specifications, the camera sensors featured on the HONOR X9a 5G are still a mystery for now.
Aside from mentioning that the new smartphone will be coming soon to our shores, HONOR did not provide a date for the X9a 5G’s expected arrival. Seeing that the company has begun building hype for the device, it is possible that a launch could happen sometime within this month.
