Suunto recently unveiled its latest 9 Peak Pro GPS smartwatch, which is touted to be its most powerful one yet – featuring a military-grade build and weeks-long battery life. The company has announced that the wearable is set to arrive in Malaysia later this month, with pre-orders now open until 21 November 2022.
For starters, the new Suunto 9 Peak Pro sports a circular 1.2-inch colour touchscreen with 240 x 240 pixel resolution and sapphire glass protection. The smartwatch is designed to be highly durable, featuring MIL-STD 810G military grade materials such as glass fibre reinforced polyamide for its case, and either stainless steel or titanium for its bezel. It is also waterproof up to 100 metres in depth.
The wearable measures in at 43 x 43 x 10.8 mm, and supports wrist sizes of 125 – 175 mm or 125 – 200 mm depending on the variant. Included together with it is a 22 mm silicone strap.
Suunto says the new smartwatch packs a new and powerful chipset architecture, offering high levels of performance. Expectedly, it also comes with sensors for health monitoring such as heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen, sleep and stress, as well as over 90 activity tracking capabilities including for workouts, swimming, and even freediving. Meanwhile, its built-in location tracking and navigation supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, and BEIDOU satellite systems.
The Suunto 9 Peak Pro comes with an all-new interface by the company, featuring bigger icons and digits, making it easy to operate and read during sports. Of course, expect it to come with typical smartwatch functionalities as well, including remote music playback, receive notifications, answer or reject calls, and much more.
As for battery, Suunto says the wearable is capable of lasting up to 21 days for regular use, and up to 40 hours in the “best GPS mode.” It also supports fast charging; taking about 1 hour for full charge, while a 10-minute charge grants you 10 hours worth of usage.
The Suunto 9 Peak Pro will arrive in Malaysia on 22 November 2022, with pre-orders now open until 21 November via the brand’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada, as well as SolarTime.com and a.d. time physical stores nationwide. The new smartwatch is offered in two variants: a Stainless Steel version which is priced at RM 2,699, and a Titanium model for RM 3,199. In addition, pre-orders are also eligible for a RM 500 e-voucher that can be used to purchase Suunto accessories.
