Its launch has been rumoured earlier this week which turned out to be absolutely true. Just moments ago, Apple has rolled out a brand-new iPad Pro that is powered by its M2 processor that the company launched back in June at WWDC 2022 for this year’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13 releases.
The M2 carries an 8-core CPU that is up to 15% faster than the M1’s CPU according to Apple, alongside a 10-core GPU that offers up to 35% improvement in terms of graphics performance. The chip also features a 16-core Neural Engine that is 40% faster than its M1 counterpart together with a unified memory bandwidth of 100GB/s which is 50% more than the previous chip.
The inclusion of the M2 chip also allows Apple to enable ProRes video recording capability on the new iteration of the iPad Pro. Users can capture ProRes videos on the new model at up to 4K resolution with a 30fps framerate although the resolution for the variants with 128GB storage will be limited to 1080p.
Another major change that the new iPad Pro M2 can offer to users is the support for the Wi-Fi 6E network which allows for a download speed of up to 2.4Gbps. Just like its predecessor, the cellular option supports 5G although none of the Apple 5G devices is able to access Malaysia’s 5G network so far.
