Redmagic has officially launched its latest gaming smartphone, the Redmagic 7S Pro, in Malaysia today. Unlike its release in China, the company did not include the standard variant of the handset for the local market. However, the Pro model is offered in two different memory configurations.
In terms of specifications, the local version of the Redmagic 7S Pro is mostly similar to the Chinese launch. To recap, the phone sports a flat 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 960 Hz touch sampling rate, as well as under-display front-facing camera and fingerprint scanner. Also onboard are stereo speakers, shoulder triggers (with 520 Hz touch sampling rate), a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a red physical switch on the side for its built-in cooling system.
The gaming smartphone runs on the Qualcomm’s 5G-enabled Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship chipset and as we mentioned earlier, it is offered in two memory configurations. More specifically, there’s the 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage model that is only offered in the Obsidian colour option, and there’s also the high spec variant with a whopping 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage which is available in either Mercury or Supernova colours. Based on this, it looks like Malaysia won’t be receiving the 1TB storage model, unfortunately.
Meanwhile, keeping its internals cool for intense gaming sessions is the company’s Redmagic ICE 10.0 10-layer multi-dimensional cooling system, along with a 20,000 rpm cooling fan. Besides that, the Redmagic 7S Pro comes with a 5,000 mAh battery capacity with 135 W fast charging capability, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity.
As for imaging, housed within the phone’s rear triple camera array is a 64 MP primary shooter, along with an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro sensor. Featured on its under-display front-facing camera, on the other hand, is a 16 MP sensor.
First sales for the new Redmagic 7S Pro in Malaysia will start from 29 October 2022 onwards via the brand’s official store on Lazada, as well as authorised resellers such as Teve distribution, DirectD, Mobile To Go, Asia Mobile Supply, MMG Distribution, AI Space, Mobile Corner, and 7 Mobile. Pricing-wise, the 12 GB + 256 GB trim will retail for RM 3,999 while the top-shelf 18 GB + 512 GB model is priced at RM 4,999.
