OnePlus has officially introduced the Nord Watch in India yesterday. It is the second smartwatch to be released by the brand, though it is the first to be introduced under the more budget-friendly Nord line.
While its first-ever wearable featured a circular display, OnePlus decided to go with the more traditional rectangular form this time around. Equipped on the new Nord Watch is a 1.78-inch AMOLED screen with 368 x 448 pixel resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness, which is surrounded by a durable zinc alloy case with an IP68 rating for water resistance. In terms of colour selection, the company is offering the device in either Midnight Black or Deep Blue.
Hardware-wise, it comes with heart rate and Sp02 sensors which enables it to track blood oxygen levels, sleep data, stress, and monthly menstrual cycles. Also onboard are 105 sports modes and the Fast One-Tap Measurements feature that lets the Nord Watch simultaneously gather your health data with one simple step.
Besides that, its built-in Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity allows for numerous functionalities when connected to your smartphone. These include receiving notifications for incoming calls or messages, remote camera control, music playback controls and much more. Of course, also expect plenty of customisation options, including over 100 watch faces for personalisation.
The Nord Watch falls behind the brand’s flagship OnePlus Watch model in terms of battery life, but that’s to be expected as it is a more budget-friendly option. To be more specific, the device is said to be able to last up to 30 days on a single charge, but only when running on its low-power mode. When used normally, the company says the smartwatch will only last up to 10 days.
The new OnePlus Nord Watch debuts in India for INR 6,999 (~RM 398), though it is currently being offered at a promotional launch price of INR 4,999 (~RM 284) for a limited time. The company has yet to confirm whether the smartwatch is planned to be released in other markets.
