Realme has recently announced that its latest entry-level handset, the C33, will be arriving in Malaysia this Friday on 7 October 2022. The brand dubs the new device as its “ultimate budget-friendly smartphone,” offered at an attractive sub-RM 600 price point.
Like most of Realme’s phones under this category, the C33 comes with a decently sized display which measures at 6.5-inches. In addition, it features an IPS LCD panel with 82.1% screen-to-body ratio, 720 x 1600 pixel resolution, and a waterdrop notch for housing the front-facing camera. The device itself is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, and a 3.5mm jack, though it has a microUSB port instead of USB-C for data transfers and charging.
Internally, the Realme C33 packs a Unisoc Tiger T512 chipset that runs on the 12 nm process and is paired together with a Mali-G57 GPU. For the Malaysian market, the phone is offered in a single memory configuration of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM, with microSD support for storage expansion. The brand did not say whether its RAM expansion tool is available on this model, however.
As for battery, the new entry-level smartphone features a 5,000 mAh capacity which Realme claims is able to provide up to 37 days of usage on standby mode, while supporting an Ultra-Saving mode that grants the user up to 1.8 hours of call time on only 5% of charge. Unfortunately, the C33 does not come with any support for fast charging.
Flipping the phone on its back, we’re greeted with two considerably large camera islands that make up its dual-shooter setup. Housed in each one is a 50 MP primary shooter and a 0.3 MP depth sensor respectively. Meanwhile, housed within the notch on the display is a 5 MP selfie camera.
Come Friday, interested buyers can pick up the all-new Realme C33 for RM 559 via the brand’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada. In terms of colour selection, the phone is offered in Aqua Blue and Night Sea.
