DJI may be gearing up to launch new variants of its Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 aerial drones, according to leakster DealsDrone via Twitter. Both devices are rumoured to be stripped down versions of the originals, entailing for more budget-friendly price tags for consumers.
The leakster says the lower-end variant of DJI’s consumer drone series will be known as the Mavic 3 Classic. However, other than its name, nothing else is known regarding the supposedly upcoming product. Based on the images provided by the leakster, this version will only feature a single camera setup and will likely ditch the telephoto shooter that is featured on the original and the Cine variant of Mavic 3.

Meanwhile, DealsDrone says that the non-Pro version of the Mini 3 will lack obstacle avoidance sensors, which could reduce its overall weight. In terms of imaging, the drone will retain the original’s 1/1.3-inch 48MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, at least according to the leakster. Should this rumour be true, this would be the first time for DJI to introduce a standard version of the Mini 3, which only launched with a Pro model back in May this year.
Though still not officially confirmed by the company for now, it wouldn’t be the first time for DJI to release a more affordable variant of its drones. The DJI Mini SE that was released in 2021 is one such example, which is basically a refurbished Mavic Mini that features most of the original’s internals but with some improvements as well as a newer shell.

Despite rumoured to be cheaper than their respective original releases, pricing for the two supposedly newer drones are still not known at this time. DealsDrone says DJI is expected to unveil both the standard Mini 3 and Mavic 3 Classic in the next few weeks. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the duo when the time comes – provided that the leakster’s information is accurate, of course.
