Off Global, a French company that obtained a brand licensing agreement with Nokia earlier this year, announced two new Nokia-branded laptops at IFA 2022. The new additions to the series are the PureBook Fold and PureBook Lite — both with very similar internals.
The laptops sport 14.1-inch Full HD IPS displays with the standard 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 250 nits. However, where the Fold differs is that it has a touch display, as well as a 360-degree folding hinge, hence the name. True to its branding, the PureBook Lite is also the lightest of the entire series, weighing in at only 1.47KG while the Fold clocks in at 2.5KG.
Looking under the hood, neither devices have much to brag about, running on an Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor and paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Both Nokia laptops run on Windows 11, are equipped with fingerprint sensors with Windows Hello support, dual stereo speakers, a 1MP webcam, and a microSD expansion slot.
The PureBook Fold and PureBook Lite each have two USB-C ports, a single USB-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack, with support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth. Powering the laptops is a 38Wh battery that promises up to eight hours of use, along with an included 45W charger which uses one of the USB-C ports to juice up.
The Nokia PureBook Fold and PureBook Lite come in red, blue, and black. They should be coming to France this month but other than that, the company has not revealed the pricing nor availability in other regions.
While we don’t have a price tag yet, it can be assumed that both devices will be budget laptop offerings, given the modest specs. For those who want to try out a more powerful Nokia laptop, the brand released two models of the PureBook Pro a few months back, which uses an Intel Core i3 and start from EUR699 (~RM3106).
