OPPO has officially unveiled its latest pair of wireless earbuds, the Enco Buds2. The earbuds are the follow up to last year’s Enco Buds and comes with a lower price tag, extensive Bluetooth controls, a departure from its predecessor’s design, and an improved listening time.
First off, the earbuds, weighing in at only 4g each, now sport stems that provide basic controls through tap gestures that allow you to play and pause, change tracks, adjust the volume and, interestingly enough, be used as a camera shutter button for your phone. They are splash and sweat resistant with a rating of IPX4, though that only applies to the earbuds and not the charging case.
The Enco Buds2 are equipped with 10mm drivers and bass boosters, which provides more powerful bass, at least as OPPO claims. Being an affordable offering, the earbuds do not have active noise cancellation, but they do offer noice cancellation for calls, which the company claims can make your voice sound clearer to the other person on the line.
The buds feature Bluetooth 5.2 with instant auto connection, though this feature is only supported on select OPPO smartphones. It also has a “Game Mode” which brings down the latency to 94ms.
With the 460mAh battery in the charging case, OPPO claims that the Enco Buds2 can last up to 28 hours, while a single charge gives the earbuds seven hours of use. They also support fast charging, with users getting an additional hour of playback time from just 10 minutes of charging.
The OPPO Enco Buds2 are available in Moonlight and Midnight, retailing for only RM129 — markedly cheaper than the original Enco Buds, which cost RM159 at launch. The earbuds are available in OPPO’s physical stores, online store, as well as its official stores on Shopee and Lazada. As of writing, only the latter has both colours in stock.
