Joining alongside the launch of the HONOR 70 and HONOR Pad 8 in Malaysia last night is the arrival of the brand’s 2022 iteration of its MagicBook 14 laptop. The next generation device packs significant upgrades over its predecessor; coming in with a 12th gen Intel Core processor and a large battery capacity, among other things.
To recap our previous coverage of the laptop, the 2022 HONOR MagicBook 14 features an aircraft-grade aluminium body, and sports a 14-inch LCD display with 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution, an average of 300 nits brightness and 60 Hz refresh rate. The latter also comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications.
The laptop arrives in two configurations – both of which features a 12th gen Intel Core i5-12500H processor. What sets either variant apart is the onboard graphics acceleration where the standard version of the laptop comes with integrated Intel Iris Xe, while the top-shelf model is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 mobile GPU.
Regardless of CPU configuration, paired alongside it is a LPDDR5 RAM capacity of 16GB, and an internal storage capacity of 512GB via SSD. Meanwhile, powering the laptop is a 75 Wh battery that can be fully charged in 80 minutes via the included 100W charger.
The new 2022 HONOR MagicBook 14 is set to be available for purchase in Malaysia starting from 27 August onwards. In terms of pricing, the standard configuration of the laptop is offered at RM 4,299, while the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 equipped version is priced at RM 5,099. It is worth noting that the company is also offering those who order the device during its sales launch with free gifts including HONOR-branded backpack and leather laptop sleeve, as well as a wireless mouse and pre-installed Microsoft Office Home & Students 2021, while stocks last.
