It may seem that the Xiaomi 12 Lite slated to launch in Malaysia soon may not be the final model from the company’s current flagship line this year. Much like the series’ predecessor, rumours are suggesting that the company could also be launching a Xiaomi 12T variant somewhere down the line. And if this new photo leak is to be believed, its Pro variant may come with a primary camera that could rival Motorola’s recently launched X30 Pro flagship.
The image (shown above), which was originally published in a now-deleted article by French tech site Phonandroid, allegedly depicts the rear camera array of the Xiaomi 12T to feature a 200MP shooter. Though unspecified, it is believed that the camera is equipped with the same Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor featured on the aforementioned Motorola smartphone. Should this be accurate, the supposedly upcoming Xiaomi model would be the second device in the market to be equipped with a camera with this specific megapixel count.
Unfortunately, aside from its rear island and metallic-looking rear case, it is unclear how the rest of the Xiaomi 12T looks like. Also missing is the Leica branding which could mean that neither version of the T variant would feature any form of enhancements that are developed by the renown German camera manufacturer. Interestingly, GSMArena notes that the phone’s rear camera array resembles the one featured on the Redmi K50 Ultra, a phone that Xiaomi recently launched in China.
Although, there’s a chance that the device shown may not be a finalised model. Of course, there’s also a possibility that the device shown is just a complete hoax, which is pretty common for unannounced products.

Specs-wise, leakster Yogesh Brar claims that Xiaomi 12T Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Imaging-wise, accompanying the mammoth-sized 200MP sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, while situated in front is a 20MP selfie camera. The leakster did not list out the specifications for the non-Pro model, however.
Yogesh also alleges that the company is expected to debut the new Xiaomi 12T series in September this year, though no specific date is mentioned. But as usual, we’ll only find out whether all of these leaks are accurate or not only when Xiaomi actually confirms it later on.
