Amazfit is finally bringing the Band 7 to Malaysia, its latest smart band that launched last month, skipping the Band 6. Both the black and beige versions will be available here but it’s unclear if the brand will be selling additional bands separately, which come with multiple colour options.
To refresh your memory, the Band 7 sports a rectangular 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 198×368 and no physical buttons for controls. The screen is apparently 112% bigger than its predecessor and it comes with over 50 watch faces as well as customisable ones.
The wearable lacks built-in GPS, but it still features over 120 sports tracking modes that even covers card games and board games such as chess, oddly enough. It can also automatically detect when you are doing certain activities, including walking, running, elliptical, and rowing exercises, with water resistance up to 50 metres.
Of course, a fitness-oriented smart band also needs to be equipped with a bunch of health sensors, and the Amazfit Band 7 has all the standard bells and whistles. The band has 24-hour monitoring of your heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation levels, your stress level, and for women, it can also track your menstrual cycle.
The Band 7 runs on Zepp OS and it comes with several Bluetooth features such as showing your phone notifications, acting as a camera shutter, and finding your phone. Amazfit claims that the device can last 18 days with normal usage and up to 28 days with battery saver mode. It also takes about two hours to charge from empty to 100%.
The Amazfit Band 7 will be available on the company’s official Shopee store starting on 25 August. The new smart band retails for RM189 for either colours. Interestingly enough, the Malaysian version is coming with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, though not all functions might work properly as it is not officially supported here.
