vivo has officially launched the new vivo Y35 mid-range smartphone in Malaysia. Unlike the similarly priced Y55+ that debuted locally back in May, this particular model packs a 4G-only Snapdragon chipset, faster charging speed, and comes with resistances against dust and water.
The new vivo Y35 features a pretty straightforward smartphone design that is offered in two colour options: Agate Black and Dawn Gold. Its display is a notched 6.58-inch LCD display with FHD+ (1080 x 2408 px) resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 550 nits. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual nano SIM tray with microSD support, and a Hi-Res Audio certified speaker system. As mentioned earlier, the phone comes with a dust-resistant rating of IP5X and water-resistant rating of IPX4.
Featured under its hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is paired together with a single memory configuration that consists of 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Like most vivo smartphones, the Y35 comes with the Extended RAM feature that is capable of expanding its onboard memory up to an additional 8GB by converting available storage space.
Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery, which features the company’s 44W FlashCharge fast-charging technology. According to vivo, the latter is capable of juicing up to 70% of the Y35’s battery capacity with just 34 minutes of charging. Besides that, it is also equipped with 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, but lacks NFC support.
For photography, found on the back of the smartphone is a triple camera setup which consists of a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor with electronic image stabilisation (EIS), a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, and a 2MP macro. Featured within the notch on its display, meanwhile, is a 16MP selfie camera.
The vivo Y35 is available now and is priced at RM 1,099. Those interested may order the brand’s new mid-range smartphone via its official e-store, as well as its stores on Shopee and Lazada.
