Honda Malaysia earlier this week has confirmed its plan to launch the all-new Honda HR-V in our market later this year. Malaysia is essentially the fourth Southeast Asian market to launch the new model after Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Among the variant that will be made available in our market is the HR-V RS which is the first HR-V release to feature the e:HEV hybrid technology in Malaysia. In fact, the model will carry the same intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) powertrain from the latest City RS and City Hatchback RS albeit with a slightly different power output.
Being the top-of-the-range variant, it is not surprising to see that the HR-V RS carries the Honda SENSING driver-assistance suite too. Below is the list of safety features that are part of the suite, according to Honda Malaysia:
- Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Low Speed Follow (LSF)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
Honda LaneWatch is also a standard on the HR-V RS alongside a hands-free power tailgate with walk-away auto close function, remote engine start, and walk-away auto-lock. While Honda Malaysia has yet to reveal what the other variants will look like but rest assured, the grille design that is shown in these images is exclusive to HR-V RS.
