Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro Now In Malaysia: Price Starts From RM2,299

The pool of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones has just got bigger today as Black Shark has officially launched its new flagship device, the Black Shark 5 Pro in Malaysia. The company has also brought over the non-Pro version of the device to our market as well although it is running on the Snapdragon 870 instead.

Another factor that separates both of these gaming phones apart is their cameras. This is because the Pro model carries a 108MP main camera as opposed to the 64MP main camera on the non-Pro variant of the Black Shark 5.

Furthermore, Black Shark 5 Pro also comes with a 5MP telephoto camera complete with autofocus and macro while the non-Pro variant received a 2MP fixed-focus macro camera. Both models do feature the same 13MP ultra-wise camera alongside a 16MP selfie camera.

Speaking about similarities, both of these new Black Shark 5 Series devices have been equipped with the same 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. Being gaming phones, it is not surprising to see that the display on both devices also offers a 144Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC) feature.

Just like their predecessor, the magnetic pop-up triggers are still available on the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. They also have the same 4650mAh battery and support the 120W Hyper Charge technology that allows them to be fully charged with just 15 minutes of charging time.

When it comes to pricing, the Black Shark 5 with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage can be obtained for RM2,299 while the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage goes for RM2,699. For those who prefer the higher-end Black Shark 5 Pro instead which comes standard with 256GB internal storage, the variant with 12GB RAM is priced at RM3,699 and there is also the version with 16GB RAM that is listed at RM3,999.

Available immediately through Black Shark’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee, early adopters of the Black Shark 5 Series devices will be provided with a free tempered glass screen protector. In addition to that, customers that purchased the non-Pro model will receive Black Shark Lucifer T2 earbuds and Pro customers Black Shark Lucifer T4 earbuds.
