Samsung officially launched its new Neo QLED 8K TV lineup in Malaysia today. The 2022 lineup serves as a refresher of last year’s lineup and comes with both new and improved fares.
Internally, the 2022 Neo QLED 8K lineup are built around the Neural Quantum Processor 8K chip that Samsung says now features 20 independent neural AI networks, each designed to analyse and then optimise picture quality. The processor is also paired with the brand’s new Quantum Mini LED display, allowing each model to accurately and precisely control the lighting in all models, through a feature called Shape Adaptive Light Control. Another new feature that is being introduced with this year’s Neo QLED 8K lineup and its processor is a feature known as Real Depth Enhancer. To put it plainly, the feature basically scans the screen and then proceeds to maximise contrast, while enhancing the subject. Additionally, there is also 14-bit HDR Mapping.
Then as now, the QN900B, the flagship Neo QLED 8K sub-series, comes with a 90W 6.2.4 channel audio soundbar system that supports Dolby Atmos, with all sound being pumped through a 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system, with the top channel speakers supporting Object Tracking Sound Pro. The latter feature also being applied to Samsung’s own voice recognition feature, Voice Tracking Sound.
Moving on, the Neo QLED 8K TV lineup also comes with four HDMI 2.1 ports, but more importantly, they’re also more gamer-friendly than the last lineup. By this, we mean that the new TVs support a Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro feature that enables the TV to run at a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, albeit at just 4K resolution. Additionally, the gaming experience is further enhanced with the Super Ultrawide GameView and Game Bar.
Of course, it just wouldn’t be a Samsung TV without the presence of Smart Things, and on that end, the Korean brand doesn’t disappoint. The new Neo OLED 8K lineup can also serve as the neural hub – nerve centre, if you like – of the house, allowing all other Samsung products to converge and be accessed from a single point of control. On another note, and in keeping with the times, Samsung is also introducing a new NFT platform that will display NFT digital artworks on all Neo QLED and QLED TVs.
Pricing for Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K lineup begins at RM12499 for the 55-inches and tops out at RM49999 for the 85-inches, All models should already be available in Malaysia, At the time of writing, Samsung did not specify the individual pricing for the soundbar.
